Dogra Sadar Sabha unit of Kathua revived
Adhoc committee headed by Satpal Ex Sarpanch Constituted to look after working of Sabha in Kathua
Kathua: Dogra Sadar Sabha on Wednesday held a meeting at Kathua. The meeting was organized by Shri Satpal Mahajan under the Chairmanship of Sdr. Hardev Singh. Sh. Gulchain Singh Charak Former Minister and President DSS participated as Chief Guest in the meeting. Besides, prevailing situation in the whole UT in general and Jammu Province in particular various other issues pertaining to the culture and identity of the Dogras were discussed. The speakers expressing their views in the meeting demanded safeguards of the rights and employment for Jammuites. It was unanimously decided in the meeting to revive the DSS unit of Kathua and an adhoc committee headed by Sh. Satpal Ex Sarpanch was constituted to organize the Sabha at district and tehsil level.
Sh. G.S.Charak while addressing the gathering explained the activities undertaken by the Sabha like preservation of historical Mubarak Mandi Complex, establishment of Dogra Art Museum, digitalization and preservation of Archival material of Dogra history and also appealed to all the political parties to come on a common platform like the people of Ladakh to save the interests of Jammu in the present scenario and assured his full support to the members of the committee for solving their problems and appealed them to organise the Sabha up to the grass root level in the whole district.
Prominent speakers who spoke on the occasion include Satpal Mahajan, Ramesh Banotora, Vijay Singh Chowdhary, Sdr. Hardev Singh and Master Mehar Singh.
Besides others prominent persons who were present in the meeting were Darwara Singh, Pawan Singh Billawaria, Sub. Maj. Mohinder Singh Jamwal, Nirmal Singh, Arjun Oberoi, Deepak Kumar, Capt. Jagdeep Singh Slathia, Onkar Nath, Romesh Kumar Bhakar, Gurdev Khajuria and Shakti Singh.
