Stop exodus, check repeat of 1990: DSS to LG

Expressing strong resentment over the selected killings in Kashmir, Dogra Sadar Sabha (DSS) today urged upon the Jammu & Kashmir administration to take effective steps to stop killing of innocent civilians and resultant exodus of Kashmiri Hindus and nonKashmiri people from the Valley. Addressing a press conference here today, former Minister and president DSS
Gulchain Singh Charak expressed anguish over the recent 11 targeted killings in Kashmir Valley and desecration of religious places in Jammu region besides increased noted presence of militants. Participating members in strong words urged the Central Government to take effective punitive measures against Pakistan who sponsors, supports and provides arms for such killings of the innocent population of Kashmiri Hindus, Muslims and Sikhs, besides other non Kashmiri Indians who are engaged in providing various services to the common citizen there. Charak impressed upon both the Governments, at the Centre as well as in the Union Territory of J&K, to take immediate and coordinated steps, without any further loss of time to protect the life, honour and properties of each and every member of all the nationalist citizens living in Kashmir. He emphasized the necessity to establish meaningful dialogue and contact by the administration with civil society at all levels and even through creation of Village and Mohalla Committees to get the feel of public aspirations, apprehensions, their pains, and a feel of their nerve and also to reassure the masses that the Government is at the back of all law abiding citizens. All participants in the meeting urged upon the Central Government to take all possible stringent measures to ensure safety of the targeted population and prevent their migration to save a repetition of 1990. Prominent among those present were Col Karan Singh (retired), Prem Sagar Gupta, Col Dr Virendra K Sahi (retired), Mahadeep Singh Jamwal, Gambhir Dev Singh Charak, Prof Anita Billawaria, C M Sharma, Amanat Ali Shah and Rakesh Sambyal.,
