Press Release
DSS Rahya presses for Curbs on Drug Menace & Issue of Dogra
Certificate
August 7, Jammu. As a part of its public outreach programme, the Dogra Sadar
Sabha (DSS), Jammu, under the chairmanship of Th Gulchain Singh Charak,
President of the Sabha, held a meeting with its prominent members at the
historical town of Rahya with participants joining in large numbers from adjoining
areas including the youths. Prominent members from the DSS central body who
participated were Col. Karan Singh, vice president, Jagdeep Singh, Chhankar
Singh, Vidya Sagar Sharma and others.
Various issues pertaining to area were raised by the local people and youth. These
were discussed thoroughly and following resolutions were adopted:
Drug menace has emerged as a serious problem in whole of the kandi belt and
border areas and the parents are worried about their upcoming generations. This
belt has been known for its brave hearts in the Indian army and security forces.
The region has the history of bringing up and providing valiant soldiers for the
army, but now the youth are getting increasingly lured and trapped through a
vicious game plan of envious foreign agencies by making them drug addict. Rahya
chapter of the DSS demands strict and quick action against those involved. Proper
vigilance is the need of the hour, says the resolution.
Link roads leading to rural areas are in highly dilapidated condition and need
immediate repairs
Unemployment among the youth is increasing fast. Therefore, it was resolved
that government must initiate special recruitment drive for the youth who are
none other than our own children of the country.
As being requested repeatedly since many years, the Dogra certificate must be
revived and issued to the youth of Jammu region so that they get the necessary
relaxation in the height and other specific genetic characters peculiar to the
Dogras, for recruitment to belt forces, etc.
Prominent among others participated in the meeting were Khajoor Singh,
Raghubir Singh, Inder Pal Singh, Chhankar Singh, Mahesh Kumar, Gandharb Singh,
Bhagwan Singh, Sukhdev Singh, Balwant Singh, Rajeev Kumar, Daljeet Singh Bogal
Prem Kumar, Romesh Singh, Chanchal Singh, Jaswant Singh, Harbans Singh and
