Jammu, July 21A meeting of Dogra Sadar Sabha Executive committee was held at Sabha Bhawan Jammu on 20thJuly, 2016 to discuss the serious law & order situation in Kashmir which has affected the whole State particularly Shree Amarnath Yatra. Various speakers expressed their concern on the situation and held responsible to the Central and the State Govts. for the present situation.
The members noted with concern the frequent disruptions of the functioning of the Govt. because of strikes/bandhs called by the separatists particularly when the secretariat functions from Srinagar, as a result, this not only makes the Jammu employees insecure and vulnerable to attacks by the antinational elements but also make Govt. and secretariat inaccessible to the people of Jammu. The problems further aggravate, when the govt. puts ban of telecommunications, internet- etc. There was a system of summer/winter Secretariat to process the cases of respective Divisions, but that system also stands discontinued, Dogra Sadar Sabha demands immediate withdrawal of Jammu employees and start offunctioning of Secretariat at Jammu, so that people do not have to face any problem for their cases of Secretariat level. Dogra Sadar Sabha also demands immediate restoration of internet and other communication services which have been discontinued and the people of Jammu province have been put to a great financial loss.
The Executive committee felt that the DSS has always worked for peace and communal harmony in the State and Dogras have always been in forefront to save the unity and integrity of the State and are pained at the developing situation in Kashmir. A serious concern was expressed by the members particularly regarding the anti-Jammu sentiment in Kashmir, where Jammuites and other non Kashmiris are being targeted by the anti-social elements. This problem has created multiple difficulties such as ban on movement of traffic, media, tele-communications including internet for the people.
The DSS condemned Pakistan for fomenting trouble in Kashmir which has created problems not only for the locals but whole of State including tourists, Amarnath Yatris who also suffered physical damages and damages to the vehicles.
The Sabha wants that Govt. of India should strongly warn Pakistan not to interfere in the affairs of J&K State and appeals to the Central and State Govts. to take immediate effective measures to normalize the situation and also take the people of Jammu into confidence for dealing with the situation.
The Sabha expressed its concern and sympathies for the security forces and innocent-civilians who lost their lives in the turmoil.
