A delegation of All Jammu Civil Society Forum (AJCSF) led by its Convener Th. Gulchain Singh Charak met the Raksha Mantri Shri Manohar Parikar at his office in New Delhi on 17th Oct 2016.
Expressing concern over the continued Pakistan sponsored terror attacks, paralysed life and losses of life of civilians and security forces they demanded an all-time lasting solution to the problem within the Indian constitution. All members insisted on a strong befitting reply to Pakistan for her wicked misadventures.
They also highlighted the miseries of the border population who have been forced to evacuate leaving behind their standing crops and proposed construction of permanent shelters along the NH 1A from Madhopur to Jammu and Jammu to Poonch Road.
To resolve the internal imbalances and get over the various disputes of discrimination, the AJCSF recommended establishment of Autonomous Regional Councils for all three regions of the State.
Anan Sharma informed that over a hundred fuel tankers are stranded at Leh and the Valley for want of unloading storage fecilities and the drivers faced with starvation and exposed to cold climate. The RM took immediate note of the point and issued instructions for immediate solution.
Th. Gulchain Singh Charak explained in detail the necessity of launching a separate Duggar Channel from DD, Jammu. Maj. Gen Goverdhan Singh Jamwal projected the problems of the J&K Ex-servicemen and requested the RM to be considerate and resolve the anomalies about the OROP and the 7CPC as indicated by the three Chiefs and the ESM organisations.
Abdul Majid pointed out the ongoing unabated unrest and urging for early solution by taking all the stakeholders in confidence to save the losses of lives happening almost on daily basis.
Neeraj Anand emphasized over the losses to traders, industries and businessmen and sought for compensations and early resolution by involving all concerned parties.
The AJCSF delegation also met Dr Karan Singh who gave a patient hearing and supported the idea of Regional councils and functioning of the both secretariats at the summer and winter capitals of Jammu and Kashmir as a lasting solution to various hold ups that come in the way of unhindered development of the state.
