Dogra Law College Celebrates a Spectacular Law Fest 2025: Jashan-e-Aghaz 2.0
16th January 2025, Bari-Brahmana, Samba, J&K: Dogra Law College proudly hosted Jashan-e-Aghaz 2.0, The Law Fest 2025, a grand celebration of talent, culture, and legal scholarship. This highly anticipated event provided an inspiring platform for students to showcase their extraordinary skills, leaving a lasting impression on the academic community.
The event commenced with a warm welcome address by Ms. Vanshika Balgotra, student of the B.A.LL.B. 5-Year 9th Semester. The ceremonial lighting of the lamp, accompanied by a soulful rendition of Saraswati Vandana, set an auspicious tone for the day’s proceedings.
Renowned radio personality RJ Shan skillfully hosted the event, engaging the audience with his vibrant energy. The occasion was graced by the presence of distinguished guests, including Sh. Satish Sharma, Hon’ble Cabinet Minister of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, as the Chief Guest and Sh. Romalo Ram Ji, Padma Shri Awardee as Special Guest.
Students participated in Display your talent contest which was judged by RJ Shwetima and Ms. Shuchi Sharma. This contest showcased a plethora of captivating performances. Highlights included a stunning dance performance by Bhavya and Sanjam (B.A.LL.B. 3rd semester), heartfelt Shayari by Mehr-ul-Nisa and Justice Singh (1st and 3rd semesters), and energetic Bhangra routines by Vaishnavi, Shewani, and Mannat Angral (1st semester).
The cultural richness of the fest was further enhanced by classical dance performances, Dogri folk songs, and singing by talented students such as Bhoomi, Mehak Bali, Antriksh Aazad, and Tejvansh. A mesmerizing fusion dance by Farheen and Zara (3rd semester) and a traditional Gatka performance by the college’s team captivated the audience. A special Dogri dance performance by students of Rich Harvest School added diversity and charm to the fest.
The program also featured addresses by the distinguished Chief Guest, Sh. Satish Sharma,
who spoke on the importance of education and youth empowerment. He also highlighted the
role of education in nurturing responsible citizens and stressed the importance of cultural unity, calling upon the students to value their heritage while aspiring for greatness. His words resonated deeply with the attendees, inspiring all to strive for excellence while staying grounded in the rich traditions of Dogra culture followed by a motivational address by Sh. Romalo Ram Ji, Padma Shri Awardee. He Emphasized the significance of preserving traditional values while embracing modern education, acknowledging the profound contribution of Dogra culture and its enduring legacy in shaping the future of the region. He also spoke passionately about women empowerment, highlighting the remarkable achievements of women across various fields. “Women excel everywhere,” he stated, underscoring that women have proven time and again that they are capable of achieving greatness in all aspects of life.
The day culminated with Presidential remarks from Sh. Gulchain Singh Charak, Former
Minister and Chairman of DET, who commended the students for their remarkable contributions to the event followed by felicitation of Chief Guest and Special guest with commemorative memento. The participants of the contest were also felicitated for their creative performances. The festivities continued with a live performance by the popular (For U) band gives musical touch to the event. The Law Fest 2025 organized by Dogra Law College was a resounding success, uniting students, faculty, and guests in a day full of celebration, inspiration, and talent.
