Jammu and Kashmir Dogra Sadar Sabha, the first democratic and community wise, all inclusive organization of Jammu and Kashmir was founded in 1904 CE by the educated elite among various social groups of the then State of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh, under the patronage of Maharaja Partap Singh Ji, Raja Amar Singh Ji and other stalwarts of this soil. Representatives from all communities of the State right from Kangra (H.P). Hoshiarpur, Gurdaspur (Punjab) Mirpur, Poonch and other parts of the Dogra land were co-opted as active members. Formation of Dogra Sadar Sabha marked the beginning of a new era in the socio-economic and political history of Jammu and Kashmir.
The Dogra Sadar Sabha, as a young organization of 118 years, comprise of members from all walks of social strata, regions and religions of Jammu & Kashmir and continue to contribute our full potential in the sustained struggle for keeping aloft the ideals and values of communal harmony, equitable and sustainable development and respect for each other – irrespective of caste, colour or religion, besides promotion of indigenous culture, conservation and revival of historical monuments and shrines, delivery of justice to the masses and progress.
Since the late 1980s, this sensitive border state has been facing unprecedented and violent upheavals due to the terrorism unleashed by the greedy and treacherous neighbour that is Pakistan. After failing in its military adventures, the hostile neighbour has been making every kind of attempt to create and widen schism between communities and regions in India. Not only in Jammu and Kashmir, the vicious attempts by Pakistan and Pakistan sponsored terror organizations are continuing in other state like the Punjab and others.
These evil machinations of Pakistan and other envious countries demand strong resolve from all our citizens and countrymen to understand such divisive strategies and form a formidable alliance against them.
The celebration of Payaam – e – Insaaniyat is one such attempt of the J&K Dogra Sadar Sabha to ward off every threat to peace and communal harmony by spreading the Message of Humanity through religious scholars, intellectuals, leaders of political and social organizations, civil society, women and children.
Earlier also, the Dogra Sadar Sabha has organized various peace marches and conferences whenever there was apprehension of disturbance or breach of peace, or any kind of communal or political discord. The unique and annual event ‘Message of Humanity Conference’ was started when communal tensions were high in the State due to disturbance in Punjab and Kashmir. World renowned religious scholars of Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, Christian communities have participated in these conferences.Hon’ble Governor of Kerala, Shri Arif Mohammad Khan Sahib, the great intellectual, statesman and scholar of our country, has been kind enough to give his consent to be the Chief Guest and deliver the Message of Humanity to dignitaries from all walks of life at Teachers Bhawan Auditorium, Jammu, the City of Temples, on 8th of December, 2022. It is hoped that the message will reach every nook and corner of not only this recently carved out Union Territory, but all over the country.
