Today the 26th January, 2017, “Republic Day” was celebrated by Dogra Sadar Sabha J&K at DSS Bhawan, Jammu Wherein large number of prominent citizens, besides office bearers and members of the Sabha, participated.
The National flag was hoisted by Th. Gulchain Singh Charak, Former Minister and President of the Sabha, on the occasion and the main attraction of the function was the band and troop of students of Jyoti Public School, Jammu, who played the band and presented the national anthem during the celebrations.
While speaking on the occasion, Sh. Charak, paid rich tributes to the Martyrs who laid down their lives during the historic freedom struggle launched by lakhs of people under the leadership of Father of the Nation Sh. M.K Gandhi.
He also appealed the people of the State in general and Duggar pradesh in particular to maintain the age old communal harmony in the region at all costs to defeat the nefarious designs of the enemy.
Others who expressed their views during the function included:- Dr. N. K. Dogra, Sh. Prem Sagar Gupta, Sh. Gambhir Dev Singh Charak, Sh. Syed Amanat Ali Shah,Sh. R.K Sharma, Er. Satpal Langar, Sh. Ajmer Singh Charak, Sh. Ravi Singh Slathia, Sr. Balwinder Singh, Sh. Purshotam Thapa, Sh. Madhu Singh, Sh. J.S Mangal, Sh. Chatter Singh, Sh. N.D Rajwal and Shiv Kumar Sharma.
In the end, Sweets were distributed among the participants. ,
