Jammu 25, April 2025: Today the executive body of Dogra Sadar Sabha met under the chairmanship of its President Th. Gulchain Singh Charak, Former Minister to examine the latest developments in the India- Pakistan relations after the dastardly terror attack at Pahalgam. DSS discussed in detail the ramifications of the punitive measures as declared by the Government of India against Pakistan and the Pakistan’s reactions thereupon. All the members of the Sabha (an amalgam of various religious, social and trade organisations of Jammu region) strongly condemned the recent provocative remarks made by Pakistan’s Army Chief, General Asif Munir, at the Overseas Pakistanis Conference held in Islamabad. His statements concerning Jammu and Kashmir are not only baseless but also clearly reflect that the power structure in Pakistan continues to thrive on a divisive and hate-driven agenda. The words of Pak Army Chief are in complete resonance with the recent barbaric action of the Pak sponsored terrorists on the innocent tourists in Pahalgam.
He said that Pakistan has been making multi pronged attacks in India to destabilize our country, by a narcotics Jihad in J&K and Punjab, pumping arms, infiltrators and running terror training camps on their soil and in PoJK.
Charak while appreciating the Government of India’s firm and decisive action plan which is a timely and necessary response to continued acts of aggression that threaten the sovereignty and security of India, urged upon the government to take more stronger punitive measures to avenge the loss of innocent lives of the civilians, thereby putting an end to the proxy war imposed by Pakistan. He also expressed deep appreciation to the people of Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh for their unity and resilience in unequivocally condemning the heinous Pahalgam incident by observing a complete Bandh across the Union Territory. Furthermore, he appreciated the representatives of various social and trade organizations in Kashmir for their recent press conference, where they not only expressed solidarity with the victims but also pledged support to the government in combating terrorism. He urged the people of all the three regions to come together and form a Joint Coordination Committee to strengthen collective efforts against terrorism and to promote lasting peace in the Union Territory. The members of the executive highlighted that this incident is an indicator of a serious security lapse on the part of the administration, as there were no proper security arrangements in place at the newly inaugurated mega tourist destination where hundreds of tourists were reportedly present. DSS `demanded a detailed enquiry into this security lapse. Moreover, they urged the government to strengthen the grassroot institutions like Panchayats, Numberdaars, Chowkidars, and VDCs which can play a more active role in combating such heinous acts of terrorism including narco terror. Charak further said, the government of India must not forget to combat the menace of narco-terrorism which is spreading its tentacles in India at an unexpected rate. This unholy alliance between drugs and terror doesn’t just fund attacks; it aims to weaken our society from within, poisoning our youth while simultaneously financing acts of unimaginable cruelty. He demanded a comprehensive and coordinated response to dismantle both terror networks and their funding sources.
Lastly, DSS appealed to the people of Jammu and Kashmir in particular, and to all the citizens of India in general, to maintain peace & harmony and remain vigilant and against the malicious designs of foreign powers aiming to incite communal unrest and disturb the unity of our great nation. In the end members of the executive committee of DSS paid rich tributes to Hav Jhantu Ail Sheikh , a Para Commando who laid down his life while fighting terrorists in Dudu-Basantgarh of Distt. Udhampur and prayed to Almighty to rest his soul in peace.
Let us stand united in our commitment to peace, progress, and national integrity.
